The 3rd Mediterranean 2017 finished with the win of a croatian player and the former senior champion of Europe Zdenko Kožul. He managed to keep the balance in the last round and ended with a draw against the grandmaster Bosiočić from Rijeka and won with 7 points.Gajewski finished on the second place mainly because he managed to have a great finish (4,5/5).The last round was abounded with a lot of draw with which players tried to keep their ranking positions .There were even 14 players sharing the 3 rd place but grandmaster from Rijeka Cvitan took the podium place because of the extra criteria (6,5 points ,no losses).And by that achievement he got  a placement in the Cosed senior championship on which 12 best croatian players participate .Bosiočić was also placed 3rd place by points but with extra criteria he finished 5 th.
