Croatian grandmaster Zdenko Kožul has taken the lead on the 3 rd Open international tournament Mediterranean 2017with an effective victory .Kožul won in a direct match for the top against the previous leader Aleksandar Kovačević and took the lead with 6/7 points.The most surprising event of the 7 th round was the defeat of the top seed Murtas Kazhgleyev against the grandmaster Ante Šarić from Split who joined Kovačević Aleksandar,Bosiočić,Cvitan,Safarli,Gajewski and Dražić on the second place with 5,5 points .Two rounds before the and of the tournament we can seek for the tournament winner among these 8 players.The most interesting pair of the 8th round will be the duel between the current leader Kožul and Safarly Eltaj from Azerbaijan who was the last year"s youth world champion .
